Tracking Petal Ads campaigns

AppMetrica tracks Petal Ads campaigns.

To enable tracking, link your AppMetrica and Petal Ads accounts via the Petal Ads Link ID used to attribute the installation source.

This section explains the steps for setting up AppMetrica tracking to work with Petal Ads ad campaigns.

  1. Open Petal Ads, then go to ToolsEvents and assets.

  2. On the Events and assets page, click +Add asset.

  3. Select the asset type App (Applicable to Android apps) and click Next.

  4. Select the app from the list. In the Analytics tool line, select AppMetrica and click Submit.

  5. On the Events and assets page, you can see the added asset and its Link ID. This Link ID is used to create a tracker.

  6. On the right of the screen, click +Add event.

If Smart tracking is enabled, you don't need to add an event.

If Smart tracking is disabled, you need to import each event on the ad network side. To do this, click +Add event and select the event corresponding to the specified postback.

  7. Select Activation as the event type and Analytics tool tracking as data source, then click OK.

Step 2. Create a tracker in AppMetrica

  1. In the AppMetrica interface, go to TrackingAdd tracker.
  2. Enter the name of the tracker.
  3. Select Petal Ads as the media source.
  4. Specify Main as the tracker type.
  5. In the Petal Ads Link ID field, specify the ID you obtained in Step 1.

Step 3. (Optional) Configure attribution

This attribution type correctly detects the source that brought users to your app and accurately links app installs to ad interactions, whether they're a click or an impression.

For more information about attribution methods, see AppMetrica tracking technology and Impression attribution.

  • Reattribution — Attribution of reinstalls by pre-existing users. This option is disabled by default. For more information, see Attributing app installs.

For test devices, reattribution is always enabled (regardless of the option status). For more information about adding test devices, see Testing attribution.

  • Click settings

    • Fingerprint — Time interval of attribution (the time between the click and first start). AppMetrica uses it for the Device Fingerprint Matching attribution. The default value is 24 hours.
Acceptable values are from 1 to 24 hours.

    • Device ID / Install Referrer — Time interval of attribution, that is used for the Device Identifier Matching attribution. The default value is 10 days.
Acceptable values are from 1 to 90 days for clicks and up to 24 hours for impressions.

  • Impression attribution, also known as post-view attribution or view-through attribution (VTA), accounts for cases where a user didn't navigate to the app store by clicking an ad but still installed your app shortly after viewing it. The option is enabled by default. For more information, see Impression attribution.

Step 4. (Optional) Configure postbacks

You don't need to configure the Installation postback for Petal Ads.

Postback templates are available for Petal Ads. Click Add postback and select the ones you need.

Step 5. (Optional) Configure anti-fraud

Enable FraudScore to check installs and events for fraud via FraudScore.

FraudScore is a paid option (Pricing plans) only available for legal entities registered in Russia.

Step 6. Save your changes

Click Save at the bottom of the page.

On the right, you can find the tracker's Tracking ID.

If you didn't find the answer you were looking for, you can use the feedback form to submit your question. Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible. Attach a screenshot if possible.
